Positions On Socialization

PREFACE

This book, Positions on Socialization, is intended for the students of linguistics, who would like to know something more abut socialization than generally offered in their courses on sociolingusitics, psycholinguistics, and anthropological  linguistics. I do hope that a reading of the contents of this book will help the students of linguistics’ and adjacent sciences in our Universities to further widen their horizon of knowledge of society, socialization, and language accusation and use.  This volume contains chapters on the definition and scope of socialization, sociological approaches to socialization, social psychological  approaches to socialization, and anthropological approaches to socialization.  The second volume will focus on socialization form the point of view of linguists.  The second volume will also discuss the socialization process vis-à-vis language acquisition and language use, and aspects of  deviant socialization in relation to manifestations of language deviance.
